A Mile in Their Boots - Public Reading

2023 05 07 WIP library readingPublic Reading at Central Library

Insights into military life, including training in Canada and deployment overseas

War Stories Society presents authors reading from the recently published Canadian military anthology, A Mile in Their Boots, as well as new stories from the current Veterans' Writing Workshop.

Experience the challenges and rewards of military life, how some storytellers protect themselves from the trauma of combat, the depth of the bonds that they share with their fellow soldiers, and how the experience of war forever changes the way in which each of them looks at the world.

We hope that you relate and connect to these stories of amusement, pride, despair, love, and gratitude.

Q&A with the authors to follow. Event is free. Registration is required, through EventBrite.

Warning: Due to the nature of this project, some stories contain coarse language and graphic content, including sexual assault, and death of a child. Recommended for mature audiences.
